The winner, Captain Cattistock (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Haydock on 30 December 2021 where the gelding was pulled up.
The representative of Fergal O’Brien’s explanation that Captain Cattistock (GB) benefited from the run at Haydock when returning from a 216- day break, was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, the representative of Lucinda Russell reported that Mighty Thunder (GB), which was pulled up, had a respiratory issue.
