Permission was given for both CAESAR’S PALACE and Manshoodah (USA) wear a red hood to the start.
Ben Robinson, the rider of Mostly Cloudy (IRE), placed fourth, was asked to explain his riding from turning for home where the colt had to appeared to be considerately ridden.
The Stewards interviewed Robinson and viewed recordings of the race after which he explained his instructions were to hold up Mostly Cloudy (IRE) and concentrate on getting the gelding settled after it jumped awkwardly from the stalls, which he had reported at scales.
He added that in the final 2 furlongs Mostly Cloudy (IRE) lugged towards the rail and became slightly unbalanced so he felt it was prudent to hold the gelding together.
His explanation was noted.
