Permission was given for Sweet Believer (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood and for Magical Morning (GB), Stormy Antarctic (GB) and Casanova (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Blue For You (IRE), unplaced, lugged quickly left-handed causing Migration (IRE), unplaced, to become short for room and be slightly checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The Stewards noted that approximately 1/2 furlong out, Blue For You (IRE), unplaced, was short for room and had to be steadied.
The winner, Shelir (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 1 October 2022 where the gelding finished fourteenth of seventeen, beaten by 10 lengths.
David O’Meara’s explanation that the gelding settled better on this occasion was noted.
Shelir (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, James Doyle reported that Rhoscolyn (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly, David O'Meara reported that the gelding did not see out the trip on the Good to Soft, Soft in places going on this occasion and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Rhoscolyn (GB) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Accidental Agent (GB), unplaced, had lost its right fore shoe and that Montatham (GB), placed sixth, had lost its left hind shoe.
