That is one of my most satisfying winners as she has loads of ability and is gorgeous but has had a lot of little problems, which can add up to a big problem. It has taken a lot of time to get everything right, but she is in a good place. She has had me tearing my hair out and I'm very lucky that Peter (Davies) is such a patient owner. We could have run when she was only half-ready, but thought we'd get her fully right and I hope now that Peter's patience will be fully rewarded. . She won't be going away for a holiday that's for sure and we'll keep her going. I don't think the race has taken a huge amount out of her and of course she will come on from the race. . The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Katie Tay, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Adrian Sexton, trainer, concerning his actions in the parade ring when his charge Katherine had been mounted by Mr H.E. Sexton and failed to continue to procced around the parade ring but turned back against the direction of oncoming horses to exit. Adrian Sexton stated that his charge can be difficult at times and she was getting edgy when mounted and he decided to get her out onto the track without continuing around the parade ring. He admitted that in the knowledge of his charges difficulty, he failed to seek any prior permission from any Official to make special arrangements for this animals exit when mounted. On further questioning, Adrian Sexton accepted that his charge could have continued walking around the parade ring when the signal for jockeys to mount was made and the rider could have mounted when close to the parade ring exit onto the race track. Mr H.E. Sexton, rider, stated that his mount can be temperamental and felt that she was on her toes when the decision was made to exit onto the race track. Evidence was also heard from Mr C.J. Sweeney, Stipendiary Steward, who was very close to the incident when it happened. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Adrian Sexton was in breach of R16 (Parade ring procedures) and having taken his previous record into consideration, fined him €100 on this occasion and advised Adrian Sexton to be more aware of the parade ring procedures in future. Mr C.J. Sweeney was replaced by Mr A. Ring on the Raceday Panel of Stewards for this enquiry
