The Stewards interviewed Mark Michael McNiff, trainer, in relation to the late withdrawal of his charge, Pump Road, due to the going. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who accepted that there was no change in the declared going of good, however he did have concerns regarding a small section of the track in the back straight which had insufficient grass coverings. Evidence was also heard from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course, Mr. L. Wyer, who agreed with the concerns raised by Mark McNiff and stated that he was satisfied with the declared going of good. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the agreement between the trainer and the Clerk of the Course and they accepted the explanations offered by the trainer

Furthermore the Stewards were satisfied that the declared going of good was correct for this fixture. Mr. D. Pugh, Chairman, absented himself from this enquiry which was chaired by Mr. T. McDonagh.

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-109
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight is 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
