I'm delighted with him as he hasn't run for a while but I was expecting him to run a big race. I thought he mightn't beat the favourite. We got him back in January. He was with Sharon Dunphy and she had a nice job done with him. Brian was good and strong on him. He comes in two mornings a week so he knows the horse. There is more work and pressure in this game, the riding was easy! He will keep going on that good ground and hopefully he'll keep improving. He will be kept busy over the summer. J R Barry, trainer

A.E. Lynch, rider of Our Dougal, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung throughout. The Stewards interviewed B.T. O'Connell, rider of Time For Bucks, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.4, in that he used the whip without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.
