we took a gamble dropping back to six and it paid off. We knew with the likes of Geological in the race they'd go hard so it would be a good true run race and if he was able to lie up with them he would kind of be the class horse of the race. Hopefully that will give him a bit of confidence because really the handicapper has him. He has been hard on him as he's ran all year and he hasn't dropped him. We had to drop him back to six to try something else. It worked as they've gone hard and he loved that surface. He said they went hard but he came into his own at the furlong pole. We'll look at those six furlong races up the Curragh if it's not too slow.

The Stewards requested a report from G.M.Lyons, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Reckless Endeavour, placed first, as compared with its recent form. S. Lyons, Authorised Representative, reported that this horse's best form is on decent ground. He was allowed to take his chance in a valuable handicap at Galway but ran disappointingly on ground that wasn't ideal. Today's drop back in trip to six furlongs also seemed to suit. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report.
