FormscanBy Alan Magee - POWER UNDER ME has proved a great servant to connections and gained a sixth career win on his penultimate start over 7f at Naas. The selection will appreciate the anticipated cut in the ground and hopefully can bounce back after a disappointing effort in a Group 2 at Leopardstown last time. Chicago Critic appears adaptable in terms of ground conditions and is an obvious threat if reproducing his highly creditable third to Haatem in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Follow Me won twice at the Curragh earlier this year including on soft ground but has been soundly beaten on both outings since while there isn’t much to choose between Princess Child, Fleur De Chine and Mexicali Rose on running behind Curvature at Listowel last month.

he's a lovely horse and that's a nice bonus as it wasn't on the agenda as he's in the middle of a holiday at the minute, aiming for an autumn campaign. Kerri (daughter) rides him every day and he just leads two-year-olds. We're trying to just keep him ticking over and give him his break. He qualified for this race, you don't expect to get this ground at this time of the year and it just fell right for him. Colin said he thought he was going to win hands-and-heels and then had a blow so he had to give him a few flicks. I thought he'd need this as we haven't revved him up and that will leave him set up and now I can get him revved up for September, onwards. He's a star and I'm delighted for Vincent and Geraldine (Gaul, owners), he's just been a lovely horse for them.

I always thought he might be a soft ground horse, but we worked him on the grass last week and Ben was very impressed with him. He’s been gelded since his last run as well so maybe a bit of both. He’s a horse we always liked last year after maybe he won his maiden on soft ground because he’s so genuine. I’m delighted the way he’s done it today. Ben said he’s hit the line well and he might be a horse to go for the Britannia in Ascot.

He's a fair horse, everything went wrong that could go wrong and he still weaved his way through. Three down I was like 'oh no', it was like watching a horror movie. Billy was so cool on him, he got his spots and got out. It's onwards and upwards with him, it's exciting to have him. They are two lovely horses (Dance Night Andday who won yesterday) that have won this weekend. They both worked on Tuesday morning and you'd think coming here that both of them would run well, but you'd hardly think on Guineas weekend both of them would win. Tom Malone bought him in France and it was a great buy for Amanda (Torrens). Unfortunately, she couldn't be here today, she had to go to the north for another engagement. She was roaring the phone down and she's delighted. We'll see what the handicapper does, he's 93 today and, if there was another handicap on Derby weekend that we could eke out of him, that's a possibility. He's very versatile ground-wise and it's just lovely to have a good horse. He's a big horse with loads of scope. When he came off the lorry to us, and given his two-year-old form, he came off like a big scopey horse and not a horse that was all about two. He's simple enough at home, likes his routine. I feel sorry for Shane Foley as he's ridden all his work and won his maiden on him. He was mad to ride him but had to ride for Jessie (Harrington) and then that horse (Matter Of Fact) was taken out. He is Shane's ride.

He could maybe go to the Middle Park or the (Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc) Lagardere. We knew he was a six/seven furlong type horse and he will be probably be a miler next year. She was good last year. She was unlucky the first day and then she did things wrong afterwards in her races,. I ran her over shorter here, trying to get her to relax, and she was too keen that day. Then it was bottomless in Gowran and she ran with the choke out. Today I think they all wanted to move to the middle and it suited her as she got a freebie and got to prick her ears.
