It's tackier ground and slower ground than Punchestown. At Punchestown he just couldn't go the pace. He took off a bit then at the third last when he was sort of nowhere, and Bryan was hard on him then to finish ninth. We were a bit worried then because it was only ten days ago, but he was very gutsy there today. He was beaten nearly at the start, he couldn't go the pace and they went quick enough. He just out battled him (Great Khan) then to the line. If he hadn't of jumped the last he would have been beaten. Bryan was brilliant on him. He is a top class jockey, he is a multiple Grade 1 winning jockey, and we'll use him when we get him. He is definitely a winter ground horse and I don't want to be going around during the summer guessing about ground. He has a hard enough season, and he might make a nice staying chaser for next season.

After race at Navan Fri, 23rd Mar, 2018 (1st)
They didn't go that quick as I'd say they realised how bad the ground is after the first race. We stuck a tongue tie on today for no real reason other than to see would it help him a little bit. The last couple of times he was a little bit keen and didn't get home when he looked the winner in Fairyhouse, and he was clear turning in here another day and got caught. In fairness to Bryan he switched him off there today and it worked. He'll probably stick to handicap hurdles this season and he goes on the ground. Now that he settles we can up him in trip, and if there is soft ground in Punchestown we could go for that.

After race at Limerick Wed, 27th Dec, 2017 (1st)
We tried to bully him a couple of times and it didn't suit and I said to Donie that it was bottomless and it might suit to be going that bit easier. I said to jump him off handy but to keep taking him back. He had good form on the flat but hadn't ran that often which was a little bit of a worry and he's not easy to train but thankfully he jumped that bit better today. Thanks to Gerry Hogan (bloodstock agent) for buying him and at least he's after winning now. We'll probably go for a handicap next and hopefully there won't be too much done with him after that. He seemed to just relish those testing conditions and we'll keep our feet on the ground.
