Review navan 20th Jan
< Hareth took advantage of a feather weight to come out on top in the Navan Handicap Hurdle.< Monotype headed long-time leader Yaha Fizz after the fourth-last and although his advantage was reduced, he was still in there pitching two out.
Hareth (8-1) was challenging strongly, though, with Miles To Memphis hot on their heels, and Charles Byrnes' charge, with Phillip Enright getting down to ride at 10 stone, kept finding for pressure to pass the post half a length to the good.
Willie Mulins' trio Turcagua Cadmium and Bonbon Au Miel had the Race Displays Event Signage Beginners Chase between them from some way out, and it was the latter who swung into the straight with a slight lead.
With the benefit of a previous spin in this sphere under his belt, Bonbon Au Miel (9-4) cleared the last couple of fences well, particularly the last, and handed out an 11-length beating to Turcagua.
Riders On the Storm beat plenty of previous winners to get off the mark in the 2018 Navan Membership Rated Novice Hurdle.
The 4-1 favourite made his move approaching the third-last and was in front by two out, before running right the way to the line to beat Spades Are Trumps by two and three-quarter lengths.< Not Many Left (3-1) was another to break his duck, putting in an impressive display in the www.navanracecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle.
Jessica Harrington's five-year-old took up the running after jumping the penultimate obstacle and Robbie Power drove him out to dispose of Mortal by 10 lengths.
Danny Hand set sail for home a long way out on Wee Small Hours (6-1) in the Thank You For Your Service Johanna McGarry Handicap Hurdle, but he kept just enough petrol in the tank to keep Swingbridge two and a half lengths at bay.< Rightback Atya (7-2) turned the Race Displays Event Signage Handicap Chase into a procession, while Diamond Turf (100-30) claimed the Athlumney Flat Race.
