He started favourite for his bumper debut 272 days back and as a brother to Roberta Goldback Carloswayback had obvious credentials for his hurdling bow in the opening Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Limerick. She's a hell of a mare. The form of her run here at Christmas (ran out at the second last when still with every chance) has worked out really well with Sir Des Champs winning at Cheltenham and Four Commanders also running well. I have no regrets about not bringing her to Cheltenham. This was a nice pot and after Christmas this was the plan. She would have been put at risk going to Cheltenham. She might have one more run this season but I don't have any definite plans yet.

Davy gets on really well with her, and him being on board made up for the 6lb she was giving away. Her jumping was a bit slow at times but when Davy wanted her to jump she was there for him. She has been a revelation and will go to Limerick on March 18 for a similar race.

I had to twist Davy's arm to get him to ride her as he was thinking of riding the second (Shop Dj), but I was pleased that he was on board.

Knockfierna is a brilliant mare to jump and stays really well. There's a Grade 2 chase at Limerick over Christmas for her and that is the obvious target. There's also the option of a two miles chase at Cork too but the trip might be a bit of a worry.

She's obviously very good. She tied up badly at Limerick last time but her previous run at Cork was much better and based on that we were hopeful today. It was a very competitive race today, and we're delighted to win. It's unlikely she'll go to Punchestown, and we'll sent her over fences next season.
