Theresathingwrong held on gamely to deny a renewed challenge from D's Trix in the handicap chase at Limerick.
The pair had it between them down the straight, in the 2m3f contest, but Davy Russell seemed to have sealed matters when driving Theresathingwrong to assert before the last.
Pat Mangan conjured a late run from D's Trix, however, and she pushed the Liam Burke-trained winner hard in the closing stages, going down by neck at the line.
The winner, a former hunter chaser, had only got as far as the second on his return at Punchestown last Saturday but his jumping was not an issue today.
Russell was completing a double after the earlier victory of Knockfierna and was also showing that he was none-the-worse for his tumble from Ciaras Lady in the handicap hurdle.
"He's a tough and genuine horse. He looked like being a good point-to-pointer two years ago but had two very hard races which knocked the stuffing out of him," revealed Burke afterwards.
"He would be better with larger obstacles in front of him as he's a little bit slow."
