We were delighted with him — we knew there would be improvement in him today, his first run in open company. As Brian (Acheson, of owner Robcour) said, he only came back in on September 19, so there’s loads of improvement. We’ll have one run now and then the Gold Cup. He showed that he is in the mix now for the Gold Cup, he stays very well and that’s what you need. I was delighted that he settled into a rhythm, the other horse (Conflated) was going a bit left and was taking Jack’s horse’s eye off the fence a bit. I was a bit worried the whole way because Conflated does go left, but I did tell Jack to give him a bit of light and get him into a rhythm. Jack said he was a bit rusty early, but I thought he was pretty much foot-perfect apart from one for a novice stepping into open company. The sky is the limit. He’s a great horse because he shows you absolutely nothing at home — he’s very laid-back, he’s a gentleman.

that was a good performance and Jack said he’ll come on a bit from it — he had a good blow. We always thought he was a nice horse. the ground was a bit quick one day and he came home a bit sore from Thurles. We were minding him and knew he was going to be a chaser. I doubt if he’ll come back here for the Drinmore in a couple of weeks time. He could go to Limerick at Christmas; you probably wouldn’t get it soft enough for him at Leopardstown. He doesn’t have to have it soft but he seems so effective on it.

He won in spite of the track and we were very worried about running him but there is a lack of races,. I didn't think he had enough experience to go for a Grade 1 (at the Dublin Racing Festival) and Clonmel could have been a real slog. Jack said it was safe but as good as he wanted it. Jack was happy and said he was doing what he needed to do and he was the same in his bumpers. He half-came off it with a circuit to go but with a slap down the shoulder he goes again. I thought it was a good performance. He'll go straight to Cheltenham, probably for the Albert Bartlett as he wants the maximum trip.

He's a nice horse. He's probably going to be a big chaser more than anything, a big staying horse down the road. We like him,. I don't think you'll see a whole lot more of him this season, he might have one more run. Obviously I'll have to talk to Brian (Acheson, owner) but these horses are all bought for the future. He's one for down the road.
