Clonmel Fri, 7th Jun, 2024  Barbaha Queen I've had 45 seconds and 14 winners in the last 12 months so it's been ridiculous! I've finished second in good races with nice horses and I had a right bet on a good filly I ran at Kilbeggan but a horse still came and did her. Anyway, it is nice get this winner and this is a nice mare. She was entitled to her win after her Limerick run and David Doyle gave her a peach of a ride. Hopefully she can win a few now. David rides work for me on the odd day and lives only four miles from me - that's his first winner for me.

Kilbeggan Sun, 2nd Jun, 2024  Mr Dibbs We were very happy with him coming here today and he looked fantastic during the week. It took him a few races to find his form this year. He was a bit disappointing this year, it could have been the ground, but he looked fitter and had a good coat on him today. He loves this ground and will keep going for the summer. He could go to Galway.

Down Royal Mon, 6th May, 2024  Goodnightngodbless This is what she wants (better ground), this is why we came five hours up the road today. She often runs well fresh and she just wants a trip, she wants decent ground. Charlie (O'Dwyer), in fairness to him, knows this mare like the back of his hand. He gets a great oul tune out of her. I thought myself along the top going to the fourth-last that we could be in a bit of trouble. I was worried if I had her fit enough. He (O'Dwyer) said once he jumped the fourth-last she kept picking up and picking up. She stays really well, stamina has always been her forte. She is a great little mare for 11 years of age. She will run away over the summer and we'll have a bit of fun. Brilliant to get one on the board for JP (McManus), he's a great supporter and it is fantastic that he has kept her with us so long.

Tramore Mon, 22nd Apr, 2024  Brownstone The ground was too deep for him the last day, he sulked a bit and pulled himself up. He is only a small horse and the deep ground was probably tough on him. We gave him a nice break after that and he was good and fresh coming here today. We thought he might need the run and he hadn't been working great at home, he was keeping plenty for himself. It's great that he went and did that on the track anyway and it's great for the syndicate. Some of the them are away and some are working, so there is only a few of them here today. He'll be kept going for the summer now. I had my first jumps winner here and I think that's 12 winners overall now - my first season with a licence. We've had four or five point-to-point winners as well. The phone is busy and I do be trying to find these syndicates horses. I'd love to be buying these store horses, but they don't have the patience for that. They prefer getting the likes of this lad handicapped and having a bit of craic. He was only bought for five or six grand.

Gowran Park Sat, 9th Mar, 2024  Whiskeywealth He was very disappointing in the Dan Moore (eighth at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start). I thought I’d got it wrong and he wasn’t good enough, but I’d say he hit a flat spot on the day,. Today was a bit lower class, but he did it well. He was in great form coming here and I was hoping he’d run a good race. He’s been very consistent, and we’re delighted to get a good pot. He was due to run in this race last year, but he scoped wrong a couple of days beforehand. He’s still improving and that was a career best over fences.

Punchestown Sun, 18th Feb, 2024  The Goffer Emma has been with me for years. She is a great girl and is one of our barn managers. It’s a brilliant race for the staff and they all work very hard. The Goffer will go for the Ultima at Cheltenham. She didn’t panic and gave him a great spin.

Punchestown Sun, 18th Feb, 2024  Where It All Began It probably looked turning in that I was going to finish third, but stamina really kicked in when we straightened up. I’m delighted with him. He’s not reliant on heavy ground, just a test of stamina is what he wants. He’d been running well and threatened to do something like that. That’s as light as I’d go (10st 5lb). He could go for the Kim Muir at Cheltenham or an Irish National. It was a good performance and he stays really well.

Naas Sat, 10th Feb, 2024  Whiskeywealth in fairness Whiskeywealth was going to do that in Thurles the day he fell. Maybe we overfaced him going for the Dan Moore (Chase) - they maybe went a half-stride too fast, but I still think he ran below par that day. I still think he’s a better horse over fences. If you look at his form last year (when falling at Fairyhouse) he jumped the last a length in front of Dinoblue. Maybe she’d have beaten him but that was savage form and I still think there is a good prize in him. He might go for the Shamrock (Handicap Chase) at Gowran (on March 9).
