This ended up a moderate contest with four of the leading fancies not taking part.

It did produce a good finish, however, with Moscow Breeze battling back well on the run-in to deny Ballyhampshire Man.

The winner had come to take it up after the third last but was headed by Ballyhampshire Man, who got a great leap at the last. He stuck to his task gamely, however, to get his head back in front on the line.

Moscow Breeze had posted a couple of decent efforts in winners' contests in point-to-points this season and it summed up the quality of this event that he was a winning favourite here.

The runner-up had been a moderate fifth in a Clonmel maiden hurdle on his track debut after winning a point-to-point last November.

He was sure to be better suited over fences but is unlikely to find many other events of this standard. He is, however, still open to improvement could pay his way in small handicaps in time.

Prince Noora was only moderate over hurdles and was pulled up on his chase debut here last month. He was still in with a shout in third going to the last but could find no extra on the run-in.

Righteous Glory took it up seven from home. He was headed after the third last and weakened before the final fence.

Doc Reason tracked the leaders but had no more to offer in fifth after a mistake at the third last.

Al Johnston was off feed and didn't run while Head Waiter was lame. Golden Trigger, Im So Lonely, Magnet For Money, Mcalpine, and Out Of Touch all came out because of ground.
