The Stewards fined Peter Fahey, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Mine Now, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately 4 furlongs from the finish involving Mine Now, ridden by Mr R. Deegan, placed fourth, Mexican Border (GER), ridden by M. Darcy, unplaced, and Solidago, ridden by A.J. Fox, also unplaced, where it appeared Mexican Border (GER) suffered interference, clipped a heel and stumbled badly. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion Mr R. Deegan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays.
