Rebel Leader (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
The winner, Jacamar (GER), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Newton Abbot on 31 August 2019 where the gelding finished fourth of eleven, beaten by 33¼ lengths, over 2 miles 1 furlong on Good ground.
Milton Harris’ explanation that Jacamar (GER) had benefitted from a combination of the step up in trip to 2 miles 2½ furlongs and the slower ground, which was officially described as Good to Soft on this occasion, was noted.
Jacamar (GER) was routine tested.
Following the race, Bryony Frost reported that Niamh's Oscar (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
