Odds-on Logistics gets the job done
he got there under sufferance and Mark said the ground rode dead on him . he wants quick ground like it was the last day. He made a very bad mistake and he was nearly off. That broke his confidence and he had to work hard to get there. We'll give him an entry in the Galway Plate and see.
Irish National runner-up heads for Galway
he jumped great but I was maybe in front a bit soon but I had to take the run (up the inside) when i got it. Away We Go was winning his first race since finishing second, under Townend, to Liberty Counsel in the 2013 Irish National, and was winning his third race for Mullins and his seventh career race.
Close beats Finish in photo thriller
this was the next place after Limerick and we'll stick to the same kind of race again and try and get another little one. From two miles to two-six (miles) to three miles, it doesn't seem to matter to him and Mikey gave him a great ride. He (Close Review) was retired to years ago and that's the way to ride him . let him keep passing horses. His owned Ger Corrigan rides him out at home.
Gigginstown's gelding gives Gordon Glory
he looked in trouble three out but in fairness to him he's tough. They probably didn't go fast enough for him early on but he won anyway and it's great. He's the type who could win a handicap hurdle now.
Elsie excels to complete Townend's double
she deserved that but little did I think when she won her Bumper that I'd be waiting this long to win her maiden hurdle! She did it well in the end though and we'll keep battling away during the summer with her now.
O'Connell & Gigginstown combine for double
he put a poor run at Killarney behind him - he was a bit free and was handier than he would have liked and didn't perform. He settled much better today. Galway is on the agenda whether that's the Galway Hurdle or the winners' of two, as he's still only six. Things went pear-shaped with him earlier in the season but we're beginning to learn how to ride him. Today he was more manly and I was glad to see him stretching out and winning the battle.
Mullins Totally Dominant in bumper
he is a horse that has a lot of ability but keeps it to himself I think. He'll go for a winners' bumper and will continue to run during the summer over hurdles and might go back (unraced while with Richard Hannon senior) on to the Flat. He had a fair bit to do there but when Patrick got serious with him he did it and that's why I think he's not too bad. I think he'll handle any ground but he's bred for that kind of ground.
