The aptly named Totally Dominant justified 4/6 favouritism to win the concluding Punchestown.com Bumper at Punchestown today for bumper kingpin Patrick Mullins and jumps supremo and Champion Trainer Wille Mullins.
Jockey Patrick Mullins was hard at work on the son of flat stallion War Chant from some way out but the pair gradually wore down the leaders inside the final furlong for a two and three parts of a length win over Lucky Pat
Afterwards Mullins senior, who earlier has a winner with Away We Go stated “he is a horse that has a lot of ability but keeps it to himself I think.
“He'll go for a winners' bumper and will continue to run during the summer over hurdles and might go back (unraced while with Richard Hannon senior) on to the Flat.
“He had a fair bit to do there but when Patrick got serious with him he did it and that's why I think he's not too bad. I think he'll handle any ground but he's bred for that kind of ground.”
