Ralph Beckett had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Cabarita (GB) partially shod.
Permission was given for New Jazz (USA) to be mounted on the chute.
Approximately 2 furlongs out, First Link (USA), placed sixth, and Woggle (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Georgia Cox, bumped causing Woggle (IRE) to be shifted right on to Prairie Spy (IRE), placed seventh, resulting in Cox taking a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line when the winner, Norma (GB), ridden by George Wood, interfered with New Jazz (USA), placed second, ridden by Robert Havlin.
Wood was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction causing Havlin to take a slight check.
Following the race, James Doyle reported that Nooshin (GB), unplaced, lost its action and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abNorma (GB)lities.
