I was a little bit concerned about the ground today, but he handled it well and it’s brilliant to get a winner here at Christmas for JP. It’s been a while since we had a Christmas winner and we’re over the moon. It seemed to go pretty straight forward and it’s nice to get it. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the last hurdle involving The Model Kingdom, ridden by M.J.M O'Sullivan, unplaced, By Your Side (GB), ridden by J. Coen, placed second, Minx Tiara, ridden by S.W
Flanagan, placed fourth, and Walhaan, ridden by E. Walsh, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.J.M O'Sullivan stated that he was riding for luck on the railing hoping a gap would appear, but it never happened. J. Coen stated that his mount jinked slightly left on landing, but was clear when he went to the railing. S.W. Flanagan stated that he maintained his line and was unaware of the incident. E. Walsh stated that his mount jumped the last straight but was very tired and was going backwards. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
