Limerick Bookies Love Rory
That was a nice surprise. I told JT that there was €800 quid for finishing fourth, so start from there. We always thought he would make a nice chaser and fences will be his forte. He did have a nice run at Cork and he will probably go back for a novice hurdle now. Hopefully he will have a future and he jumps banks as well!
Kilcrea obliges for the Mangans
We always held him in high regard but he will be better on better ground. Credit to his owners who have been very patient with him. He will go for a winners of one now or a novice.
Mikael falls as Argocat takes Limerick feature
I'm delighted for his owners Fitri and Doc Hay whose first Grade 2 jumps winner this is. The horse has come a long way from winning his two year old mile maiden at Newmarket to running on this type of ground over fences! He's a resolute and hardy type though. He jumped particularly well today, apart from the obvious mistake at the last, but it was good to see him get his legs out so quickly to stand up from the mistake. I don't see any benefit to running him between now and Cheltenham in March, especially on more heavy ground, and he'll probably go straight for the Jewsons Novice Chase. The reason I started him off so early over fences this year was to get some better ground for him and he'll get a little break now.
Ponmeword keeps the locals happy
He is very consistent and has been placed on numerous occasions so he deserved to get his day. It was a nice pot to win and he will probably go to Tramore now on Monday under a four pound penalty.
Futuramic scores for Lynch/Colgan
he'll go chasing now and has the scope for chasing. He'll have a couple of weeks off first though as today's ground was very heavy . he did seem to enjoy it though and is improving all the time.
Fahamore does it again at Limerick
Pumbaa provides Dunphy with first NH win
That is my first National Hunt winner and it is the one I have been waiting for. I've had seven point-to-point winners and two on the flat. It was hard to fancy him considering he is a still a maiden after three point-to-point runs but we did think he had a chance as we thought he was more of a bumper horse than a point-to-pointer. If there is a suitable winners bumper for him he will go that otherwise he will go hurdling.
