Happy connections with Love Rory after he won the first at Limerick© Photo Healy Racing
After Ned Buntline got punters off to the perfect start at Leopardstown, Love Rory done the opposite at Limerick as the 25/1 outsider took the opening race, the O'Kelly Brothers Demolition & Environmental Contractors 4yo Hurdle.
The Enda Bolger trained gelding won on his racecourse debut at Listowel in September and ran well on his next two starts at Cork in good quality contests.
Ridden by John Thomas McNamara, the son of Winged Love hit the front before the last and went on from there to record a comfortable four and three parts of a length success over the even money favourite Umpact for Tony Martin and Davy Russell.
Enda Bolger said afterwards: "That was a nice surprise. I told JT that there was €800 quid for finishing fourth, so start from there.
"We always thought he would make a nice chaser and fences will be his forte. He did have a nice run at Cork and he will probably go back for a novice hurdle now.
"Hopefully he will have a future and he jumps banks as well!"
