Keane going to 'give it a lash' after moving on to 100
Credit to Shane (brother and assistant trainer) he called me about five minutes after the run on Sunday and said it had taken nothing out of him. He was right, and Colin also jumped off him on Sunday and said you can drop him back to five if you want. He’s a typical No Nay Never, handles the ground and is a good strong colt. He’s done his job and got us a winner when we needed it. He’s given Colin his 100th winner and keeps him somewhat in the fight. We’ll put him away until next year and hope he grows into a horse. It looks like five or six will be his trip at the minute and he looks like a sprinter as well. Colin said he idled and didn’t know what to do when he got to the front. There should be plenty of improvement over the winter in him.

Sheehy back in winners enclosure as Boy comes good
He took his time winning a race and I thought he’d have won by now. He’s an awful brat and runs away going to the start. He’d go down quicker than he’d come back! . We sent him down early so he got a bit of a rest today! . I don’t think there is anything else for him. He’s not like a camel as he doesn’t like the sand so he won’t be going to Dundalk.
Hayes finds the key to Nutz
This horse has been confusing me. His home work has been very good and he’s got loads of talent. Chris said not to fight with him and he’s a bit of coward so being out on his own probably suited. I’d say just match practice more than anything has helped him. He’ll go on his holidays and Chris said we’ll have plenty of fun with him next year. They are a great syndicate (Woodfarm Racing) and have kept faith with me. Fran Kennedy bought him as a pinhook and didn’t sell him so he put a syndicate together.
Buckley off the mark as Oneiroi upstages Yale
He chipped a bone in his knee and that’s why he came back to me to be rehabilitated. I was pre-training him and I said I’d keep going with him. He had been second on the all-weather earlier in the year. He’s an honest little handicapper and we said we’d take a chance today on the soft ground. I’m from Newbridge and have a gallop near Monasterevin. I’ve done a lot of showjumping, hunting and point-to-pointing and rode a few races as an amateur. I’ve had the jump licence up to now but this is my first venture into the Flat. I took a chance when this horse came along and Ronan recommended him as a good one to get me started.

Keane doubles up on Moore's Ducor
He’s a nice horse and I’m delighted with that. He’s going to make a smashing hurdler. He’s a natural jumper and we have schooled him over fences as well as hurdles. He has a super attitude and will make a lovely dual purpose horse next year. He’s in at Galway on Monday. There are 60 entries but if he gets in he’d have to run. This race was sticking out for the last month, a mile and six around Navan with a long straight. That’s the type of horse he is and it’s nice when it works out. He came back lame after Galway and that’s why he hasn’t run for a while. He was due to run about three weeks ago but got balloted out so I said we’d hold on for this. JD bought him well (for 10,000gns) as a yearling at Newmarket.
