Permission was given for Dusty Damsel (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Approaching 3 furlongs out, the winner, Raajihah (GB), which was running free, eased off the heels of a weakening Homegrownalligator (GB), unplaced, and shifted right-handed, carrying Badger Berry (GB), unplaced, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Raajihah (GB).
There appeared to be interference approximately 1½ furlongs out between the winner, Raajihah (GB), ridden by Adam Kirby, and Fair Power (IRE), placed third, ridden by William Buick.
The riders were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, after which it was found that no interference had taken place and that both runners had drifted left-handed independently.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Manfadh (IRE), ridden by Martin Harley and trained by Kevin Frost, which was steadied out of the stalls and held up at the rear of the field before being asked for an effort approximately 3 furlongs out, staying on one-paced under apparent tender handling, finishing sixth of twelve, beaten by 8½ lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated his instructions were to hold Manfadh (IRE) up, allow him to relax and finish as best as he could giving that the gelding can be keen and this being its first run since a wind operation.
He added that he was happy with the way Manfadh (IRE) settled and that he chose to track the strong travelling Fair Power (IRE) as the race developed from approximately 4 furlongs out, as he felt that this would give him the greatest chance of achieving the best possible placing.
He continued that the gelding lugged left-handed under pressure, which in his opinion, may have been due to the loose ground and that Manfadh (IRE) finished one-paced, only passing beaten horses.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Eoin Walsh reported that Shyjack (GB), placed second, was never travelling.
