An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference rounding the bend entering the home straight, when Tour Ovalie (FR), placed second, ridden by Isabel Williams interfered with the winner, Our Dylan (IRE), ridden by Ben Godfrey.
In the first incident, Williams was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she moved her mount right-handed towards the rail as Our Dylan (IRE) established a position to her inside, resulting in Godfrey having to take a check when the rail came in.
In the second incident, exiting the bend, the interference was found to be accidental as Tour Ovalie (FR) lugged right- handed when running greenly, causing Godfrey to become momentarily short of room on the rail.
The winner, Our Dylan (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Taunton on 11 March 2024 where the gelding finished tenth of fourteen runners, beaten by 48 ¼ lengths.
Kayley Woollacott’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from a recent run at Taunton after a break of 192 days was noted.
Our Dylan (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Isabel Williams reported that Tour Ovalie (FR), placed second, ran green when in front.
