The Clerk of the Scales objected to Taylors Three Rock (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Harry Bannister, and trained by Tony Carroll, on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 10st 12lbs, having weighed out at 11st 0lbs.
Taylors Three Rock (IRE) was disqualified, and the placings were revised as follows: First – Choral Work (GB); Second – Cool Stone (GB); Third – Walk In Clover (IRE).
The rider, the trainer’s representative and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
As the Stewards were unable to establish an explanation for the weight difference, Bannister was suspended for 1 day and Carroll was fined £250.
