Blackbriar makes her experience count
Experience is always a help and the cheek-pieces were a help too.
Full Steam Ahead to maiden victory
He's really a good ground horse. His work at home had been very good having earlier been held up by a few niggly problems.
More joy for the Foley team
We've no great plans now and it was just great to get the win. I was surprised how she handled the ground. (TW & EM)
Brackan wins on debut for Qatar Racing
that was very important as I asked Sheikh Fahad to (Qatar Racing Limited) buy him back and I'd like to thank him for doing so. There is a train of thought that he is better going right-handed, with a tiny bit of juice but not on firm, firm. If he had that juice, I think he'd have held on in the Ballycorus Stakes. He'll go pot hunting for the new crew (Qatar Racing) and will go for the Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown next week. He has some really fancy entries and his new owners are gonna have some fun with him and he's a rock solid Group 3 horse but needs all the luck in the world when stepped up.
Sea Coast scores for Halford/Foley
she's a very genuine filly and just about got through on the ground and wouldn't necessarily want it. She had no cover at the Curragh and raced too keen but in behind horses she's fine and is as tough as nails. She has lots of size and scope and we might let her take a chance in a Listed race before the end of the year.
Edelmira shows her true colours
She disappointed the last day when conditions were all against her. Soft ground is the key to her. She is in on Arc weekend in a Group 2 for fillies and mares and she'll more than likely get her ground there.
Joseph gets in on the act
He has a bit of age on his side and he wasn't in training last year having started off in England. His owner, Hugh O'Driscoll moved back to Ireland and that's how I came to have the horse.
