Ascot Adventure rewards his backers in Cork
I had him ready early but he got weak and we had to wait until now. He is named Ascot Adventure because we thought he might be an Ascot type but he just took a bit of time. He has a great temperament and is a lovely horse and is very fast. I was a bit afraid of the ground because being by Mayson he'd probably be better with a little ease. He'll probably be sold and I'd love to keep him but I don't think that'll happen!
That's Mad gets off the mark
he is an improving horse, came from Gordon Elliott's and is appreciating being in a smaller yard with a bit more attention. He has been trained like a proper sprinter and you can see the way he is finishing out strong and I think he'll be a good horse next year. He got to within half a length of A Step Too Far and she went on and won the Joe McGrath Handicap and we'll probably aim him for something like that next year. He seems very ground-versatile but that is probably as fast as he wants it; his stallion Equiano puts a lot of versatility in him and I'd like to see him on a bit easier ground again. I think he's improving and we'll see what the handicapper does; he might have a few runs at Dundalk but we'll keep him most on the turf which will be his main aim.
Fiscal Rules the roost in Cork
He is a lovely horse and will run in what races are available to him in Ireland for the rest of this year. He didn't have a hard race there and hopefully he'll be back in the big time next year.
