Treble Cone won the second division of the extended mile handicap in Cork for the Keanes, and moved jockey Colin to within one of jockeys' title race leader Shane Foley.

The 11/2 chance unleashed his challenge a quarter of a mile out and got the better of Agent Zero approaching the final furlong. Pulsating (16/1) finished well down the outside but couldn't reel the leader in and was never nearer in second at the line, beaten by half a length.

Agent Zero (16/1) came home third, a further three and a quarter lengths adrift.

Regarding Keane's championship prospects, trainer Gerry Keane quipped: "Everything helps!"

He said of Treble Cone: "He has to have a good track as he is a bad mover but he came down a nice bit in the ratings this year and won off a higher mark last year.

"We'll look for something similar and I just hope he's ok because he wouldn't want the ground any faster than that."

Foley is on 72 winners with Keane now on 71.
