Bluegrass Princess delivers for O'Connells
We've no real plans now as we just wanted to get today out of the way and to get a win over hurdles. It was a weak enough race and we'll just have to see now where we take her from here. We've been waiting for the rain for her all summer — it came a bit there tonight and Listowel is a possibility for her I'd suppose. We'll see how she comes out of that and we might keep her to mares races if we can.

In-foal Movingswiftlyalong wins well in Ballinrobe
We stuck her in foal a couple of months ago and it probably brought about that little bit of improvement we needed. She's in foal to a local horse - Gatewood - he stands in Kiltormer. He's probably not getting all the mares he deserves because he throws nice stock. It knocked off her old clock - trying to train those fillies in the summer isn't always easy. The day she won in Sligo there was a lot of rain though it probably looked worse on telly than it was that day. They were galloping through puddles because it probably just couldn't drain. That's ideal ground for her.

Lights out for favourite backers as 50/1 Rocky obliges
He's likely to get a fair hike in the handicap and as I said to the owner beforehand he's giving some of them five pounds when they should be giving him 30. It was just the fact that he likes the place and after the year I've had when the horses just weren't right in the last couple of months that we said we'd let him take his chance. They were right all year round but they were running a bit flat when the ground was right for them and I panicked a bit with the rain we've had in Galway over the last week or so. He's won three around here now and it doesn't matter what the handicapper does to him we're happy. I'm delighted for John (Rabbitte, owner, from Athenry). Robbie (Colgan) is unbelievable — riding winners at the Curragh, a chase winner there and hurdling winners too.

Fahey effusive in his praise of gambled-on Gypsy Island
She's a proper one. Joey Casey bought her at the sales and he was tipping away with her at home with the thought of going point-to-pointing but then he sent her to me to go to the track and we have her between us. She's a nice filly and to be honest she's one of the best horses I have at the moment. Anything she's done at home she's done very well. She worked with Peregrine Run up the Vic (gallop) last week and she worked all over him. We'll see how she is and she's only four. If she's not sold she might go to one of the Listed bumpers, maybe the one at Gowran. It looked a very competitive race and it was won by Getaway Katie Mai last year and she went on and won the Aintree bumper. We won't rush her back. If she's not right we'll let her freshen up and aim for something again.
