Approaching the bend leaving the back straight on the first circuit, the winner, Freewheelin (GB), hung left taking Hackberry (GB), placed third, slightly off its intended line, which in turn crowded Globetrotter (IRE), unplaced, for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Andrew Mullen reported that Nataleena (IRE), placed fourth, hung left; Ella Mackenzie reported that Bird For Life (GB), placed second, hung left; Callum Hutchinson reported that Talking About You (GB), unplaced, weakened quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities and David Probert reported that Robert Hooke (GB), unplaced, hung right and stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
