Easy win for Neverushacon in Punchestown opener
He was deadly and we couldn't be happier with him. He seems to absolutely love it here. We didn't get things changed over in time but he's being leased by good friends of the late David Reid Scott, so it will be a bit of fun for all of them. We may go back to Cheltenham in December with him if the ground isn't too heavy. For whatever reason he just seems to be a different horse around here.

Roche & McGarvey on the mark with Alexei
It probably wasn't the best race on paper but I'm delighted. Leigh Roche recommended that we buy him out of Michael O'Callaghan's. He's a fine horse and it's great to get the win out of him. He stays well and handled that ground. He won in Roscommon on good ground so he should be versatile.

Born Patriot springs 80/1 surprise on debut
He's a nice horse and whatever he does over hurdles, he's a fine big horse and will be grand over fences. He's a pure galloper. My wife Ber rides him out every day and she was confident coming here today. He works well at home but it's hard for a four-year-old in that race getting no allowances. Anything he did at home he did very well. It's a good prize and a lovely series to have.
