Credo Star makes history in Wexford
It is a great start for the new syndicate (Sport Racing Club) after they came to me last year. I think this is their 20th year on the go and you couldn't have asked for a better start. Last year she was probably a little bit weak in her bumpers and she wasn't finishing them out. Today she really finished it out. Early on Johnny said she got a bit outpaced and jumped a bit careful but once she warmed into she was grand. Once she jumped the fourth last Johnny was confident enough that she would keep going. We will see what the handicapper does, she will probably go for a handicap some place and she is a really summer horse.
First winner for Collins on Poetic Lord
He came from the flat in the UK where he had done a lot of racing. He never really got a break and he just went hurdling straight away. We gave him a good break over the winter and he has been very sweet at home so I was hoping he'd give Cian his first winner.
Solita gets the job done in Wexford
I was a bit too wide turning in but I thought turning in I was going to get there. She's a nice mare, she might win a nice little handicap somewhere. When she straightened up she stuck her head down. She got away with it. I thought that she would love the ground coming down here and I would have thought that at Fairyhouse the last day that it would be the beating of her but it was the opposite.
By The Banks dominates in Wexford
He jumped super and he travelled away and he loved himself. He loved it out in front. I didn't go fast, that's why I couldn't believe I got my own way out in front. I was surprised nothing took me on so it worked out well. In fairness to Denis (Cullen) he's straightforward to ride for. He more or less left it up to myself. I think the track is an improvement on the way it was. I think the hurdles are positioned a bit better. You are meeting them on rising ground and the horses seemed to jump them better today. He has been frustrating. He won a point-to-point and I'm surprised he hasn't done better on the track before now. Obviously the ground and the conditions suited him today and Jody gave him a great ride. We had a winner on Friday night [at Dundalk with Baby Dinnis] as well so hopefully the horses have turned a corner and we will bang in a few winners.
Annie Oakley puts it all together
She gets terrible slating for her bad jumping and not going but she was on a going day today and she is actually in-foal to Milan. She goes on heavy ground and she goes on good ground. She has won three races now and it is great.
It's All The Way Home for Doyle
She's as honest as the day's long. She struggles a little bit on heavy ground. She finds it a little bit easier on that ground. She had a nice little mark compared to her hurdle mark and it helped her on the day. I've been hitting the crossbar for that last two months so that is a huge relief. I've had seconds, thirds and fourths so it's great to get a winner. She wasn't right when she ran at Navan and she was on and off the bridle the last day. I cantered her on real quick ground last week and she seemed to love it. I put the blinkers on her to get her to travel, especially around here, and she got a magic ride. Sean gets this mare. You have one little bit to get out of her and he just leaves it as late as possible. He is just made for her. We will go again with her.
Tigroney brings up Doyle's double
Just like buses! I haven't had a winner for ages and then two come along!
