O'Leary doubles investment with claiming wins
he did it nicely there and I'm delighted to get the win. He's very straightforward and once Timourid (leader) folded, it was straightforward from there on. Whether he's going to a new home or not now remains to be seen. We can't make plans until we see what happens next.
Maiden win for J'adore Chris
she had two good runs and I'd say she didn't quite stay running over slightly further in Killarney last time. We gave her a few weeks just to freshen up and this race presented itself. It looked like the right spot for her and we're delighted she won. Billy said that extended seven (furlongs) is as far as she wants to go for now. We could look at a winners' race or may look at the Ingabelle on Champions Weekend. I think we might take the hood off her the next day, she knows how to race. She is qualified for the Foran final as well.
Galway's fast finishing filly scores once more
Jockey Lee completes Roscommon maidens double
she's a grand, big, honest filly and she loved the ease in the ground. Billy gave her an uncomplicated ride, he just jumped out and let her use her stride and she enjoyed it. I thought she was doing her best work towards the end. It was a good opportunity for her, she's a straightforward filly and tries very hard. We'll try and get black-type before the end of the year with her.
O'Leary completes double with a Cambridgeshire candidate
Keaney collects with homebred relative of Yavana's Pace
it's a super result, the horse is very green and will only improve. He wouldn't want the ground to be as deep as that. He'll be a beautiful horse next year, that's what we're looking forward to; when he strengthens up, he'll be a horse. I don't know how busy he'll be this year as it's all about next year. .most importantly it's a great result for the owner/breeder John Keaney; he owned Yavana's Pace and she's in the pedigree. We're delighted for William Flood as well, who stands Poet's Word as he is a long time family friend.
Three for Lee, in Roscommon's finale
I'd say soft ground probably suited him. He's a big horse, by Gleneagles, he's had a run over hurdles and we bought him as a dual purpose horse. He had never run on that ground before but all he does is gallop. The way the race panned out, he was able to use his stride. He hasn't that much racing done but looks like a national hunt horse and you could see him jumping a fence. We'll keep him going on the Flat for this campaign as he's only four and we'll keep him a maiden (over jumps) until next summer. we'll probably step him up in trip. If he goes up a bit more he might get into one of those better races off bottom weight. It was grand to get that done after the last day, everywhere he went he got murdered.
