Princess Vega makes the perfect start
I got a big thrill out of that. She was as green as grass and didn't know what was happening for the first mile and a half. She only got into a racing rhythm over the last half mile. I thought she might fall out over the last but she threw in a jump that even Paul wasn't expecting. That shows she had a bit more left in the tank than we thought. I'm delighted to get Quevega's breeding career off to a 100 percent start. A lot of the old crew (from the Hammer And Trowl Syndicate) are back here again today and it's lovely that she went out and won on her first run. She was improving with every bit of work at home. The French breeder of Quevega told me they only get better with age and we saw that with Quevega. Hopefully this filly can be the same. She is not the biggest in the world, so she might be a bit limited. She showed there with her jump at the last that she is stronger than she looks. We will continue during the summer with her.
Tomgarrow lands some nice bets
That was a great performance and it's great for Johnny (Jonathan Moore) who has a share in him with me. He had a lovely run the first day this season in Loughrea where he finished second. He is a horse who has showed us loads and loads of ability, but my horses just got sick over the winter and things didn't go his way. He loves that good ground and he could be real good novice hurdler. Whatever he does over hurdles, he'll definitely be a very good chaser. He will probably go to Doncaster next week to the sales, but if he is not sold it won't be the end of the world. He'll be a lovely horse for the summer. I get a great kick out of a few track winners so we might have a few more runners over the summer.
In-form Colenso delivers under Mullins
We got him at the sales in Newmarket last year. I knew the minute that I rode him that he wasn't too bad, so we gave him plenty of time. He won alright in Wexford the last day and I was just hoping that he would step up today. I was a bit worried coming down the hill. Danny (Mullins) said he was a bit flat out coming down the hill but once he hit the rising ground he stayed on well. He is still learning the way.

Tiantu wins a Power-packed finish
I was hopeful that he would go close in a beginners that was for horses rated 0-102 over hurdles. I was a bit worried about the trip but he stayed at it well. He seems to be after improving a good bit since going over fences.
Shanklys Dawn makes it two in two days for Rothwell
It's great to get a few winners again. The horses have been running well all year but we probably just don't have the standard of horses that we can really compete with. On top of that we were getting a lot of seconds. I minded a few of the winter horses because the ground has been so good all year. The handicapper has been good to this one. She is back to the mark which she won off last year. I thought she was very unlucky in Wexford the last day after she made a mistake. The mare won well last night and Adam gave this one a great ride this evening. It's lovely to get a few winners. We will be quiet enough for the summer but we have some very nice horses for the winter if I can manage to keep going to get there!
Dwan steers Myrons home in Tramore
It was a grand performance, it was an average race. He is a grand horse and wants nice ground. Unfortunately in Cork the last day the ground was soft down the back. We might consider going to Doncaster with him next week for the sales. He would be an ideal horse for England on nice ground.
