Father Ted helps Ruby extend unbeaten run
the race worked out for him and he jumped and travelled well. He (Old Castletown) is a top of the ground horse and the hood helped a bit as he is inclined to just take horses on - Ruby helped a bit too!. I'm just delighted for Denise Entenmann (nee Walsh) who owns him - she was married to a cousin of mine who died twelve months ago. She bred the horse and she also had the dam, who won races at Listowel and Leopardstown.
Daigreen scores second hurdle win
he'll be a grand little horse next year and he might go jumping a fence; we will either let him off now or he could run on the flat at Dundalk.
'Cheltenham horse' wins well at Tramore
we're delighted! Jimmy Mangan had Pumbaa previously and did a great job with him before we took out the license. He's a fair horse and we think he is Cheltenham material. He is our first winner and is the only horse we train, in Thurles.
Fogarty rides first winner since injury
it was a grand opportunity for her and she did it well. We ran her in Wexford and the ground was a bit quick and she came back a little bit sore. We were then forced to give her the summer off and this has been the first opportunity we've had to run, so it is nice to get a win. She is not a horse that'll go on real winter or heavy ground and we have a window now where she has her ground and we will try and pick up a winners' of one. We might try and get a bit of black-type for her as she's well-bred and it'd mean a lot to her owner Maurice as he breeds a lot of horses. I'd imagine she will be going to a stallion in the spring.
Kilmurry Kid scores for Hayes & McCarthy
everything went right for him today and he jumped lovely. I was scratching my head last week after he ran so bad but the rain during the week helped him. I'm glad he ran to his ability and I've no plan for him but he likes a bit of juice in the ground. We'll go home now and look at the calendar.
