Bell Weir takes Clonmel opener
he did it well and he seems to be a bit better on the Flat compared to hurdles. Over hurdles his jumping is a bit sloppy and he tends to back-off them a bit. He could be worth a go down the line aiming at a staying handicap around this trip.
McNamaras get their rub of the Green!
hindsight is a great thing but the trip was too sharp for her at Limerick the last day. I thought she was disappointing then but when they passed the line she actually went the whole way up the back straight. It's great to get a win on the Flat with her as she's already a Grade 2 winner over hurdles and will be worth a few extra quid as a broodmare now. We'll mix it on the Flat and over hurdles during the summer.
Powerstation in good company as mate wins!
he (Captainofthefleet) is a relentless galloper and when we sort out his jumping (has run three time over hurdles in the past), he should make a fair three mile hurdler. He was tough although he did get a handy lead. Once the ground gets any way good we'll let him off as that's probably as good as he wants it.
Gold for Platinum as Sizings rule at Clonmel
I'm delighted with that. He came to us around Christmas time and has always looked a nice horse. I was thinking of running him in a bumper but Alan and Ann (Potts, owners) aren't pushed about bumpers and we couldn't have asked for a better start there. He was very green out in front after Ruby's horse went. I'd say he'll run away as long as the ground doesn't get too quick and I know Alan and Ann love going to Killarney in July so that's something to look at. He's a big baby and can only improve.

Quirk scores with home-bred 25/1 winner
I've had her dam, grand-dam and maybe even the great grand-dam! I don't like to think that far back though!. that's a big surprise but I've not been training her the right way! Very light training seems to suit and previously we were working her too strenuously.
