Review clonmel 9th May Fergal Lynch produced a superb front-running ride to land the Tipperary Perpetual Cup Handicap at Clonmel on Captainofthefleet.Eamonn O'Connell's charge was sent clear by Lynch from a long way out, though that lead had been reduced to nothing by Fleur De Nuit.Lynch had evidently kept something up his sleeve on the 20-1 chance though, and he battled on well up the home straight to land the spoils by three quarters of a length.Joseph O'Brien struck in the opening West Gate Maiden after Eoin Doyle's Bell Weir proved a very willing partner.Settled off the pace in the early stages, O'Brien nudged the 2-1 favourite into contention three furlongs out and struck for home a furlong later.Another Charm kept up the chase but was four lengths down at the line.Little Green opened her Flat account with a gutsy display in the Main Guard Handicap.The 8-1 chance's only previous success had come in the Grade Two Winning Fair Hurdle at Fairyhouse in 2011, and she rolled back the clock to beat Ocean Bright by three quarters of a length.Owners the Alan and Ann Potts Partnership enjoyed a one-two in the St. Patrick's Well Maiden Hurdle as debutant Sizing Platinum easily disposed of Sizing Solution.The pair pulled well clear of the remainder, but Andrew Lynch was never in any real danger on the 7-4 favourite, coming home seven lengths to the good.A minor gamble was landed in the Nire Valley Handicap Hurdle when the Gareth Malone-ridden American Flyer (10-1 from 16s) made virtually all to beat Ontheground by three quarters of a length.Sarah Battle (25-1) had shown some promise between the flags recently and she responded to Adam O'Neill's urgings to outbattle the Ruby Walsh-ridden Whiskey And Red in the 'Girls Nite Out May 23rd' Handicap Hurdle.
