Only for the five grand bonus (for winning mares' races) she'd have gone down the geldings route and it was nearly time she won her maiden. She had a hard race this day last week and was a bit flat today. She'll run in a handicap hurdle next before going chasing and I'd like to thank Catherine Cooper for changing her diet last year and for doing a great job.

She was unlucky a few times in point to points and also had a bit of leg trouble. She has always been a nice filly though and Mark O'Hare does the schooling on her and said she could go straight chasing now. She is owned by her breeder William Anderson, a local pig farmer in Scarvagh.

He should have won a long time ago but that's the way it goes and it's the first winner for his owner Christy Buckley, who is an auctioneer from Ballynoe. He didn't get the two and a half miles and might like nicer ground and wouldn't want it soft. He'll keep running as long as the ground doesn't turn.
