The Starter reported that Humaniste (IRE) had refused to race and was withdrawn.
Joe Tickle and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
As the gelding had also refused to race at Stratford on 28 October 2021, Fontwell on 26 December 2021 and Newton Abbot on 21 June 2022, Humaniste (IRE)’s behaviour was referred to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Approaching the final furlong, the winner, Sir Joseph Swan (GB) drifted slightly right away from the whip at the same time as Arcadian Friend (GB), placed second, lugged slightly left causing the two geldings to make contact but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that there was no riding offence involved and it had not improved the placing of Sir Joseph Swan (GB).
