Gold for favourite backers in Thurles opener
She had a lovely run in Fairyhouse when she wouldn't have been 100 percent and she came on lovely with a lovely clear round. She is getting more professional the whole time and while the fences are not quite as big here, I'm delighted with the way she jumped,. There is a lovely campaign for the mares' novice route and there are four of us involved in her, myself, Kieran Leavy, Fergus Healy and Lorcan Cribbin. They are a great bunch of lads and are plucky!
In-form Doyle and Enright win incident packed affair
He is a grand oul horse and he won well the last day and we thought he'd come on a bit,. Everlastingpromise (runner-up) missed the last and we winged it and it was probably the winning of the race and he is probably a galloper and Philip said he'd use him up turning in instead of getting caught for toe, so he gave him a great ride and that's his third winner for us in the last ten days. It was his first run in a handicap chase and he is rated 104 over hurdles so that's something we'd have to look at. He wouldn't want really deep ground but likes it yielding or soft.
Rebel Og pleases Townend with Thurles win
100s into 12s and Arizengo delivers
We had him in the spring time when Harry Smyth sent him to us and I bought him off Harry this year for his current owners,. He made bad mistake the last day at Galway when he twisted his back and the physio has done great work on him. We were genuinely disappointed with him at Galway as he travelled so well but after the bad mistake it was curtains. He had been working extremely well recently and the boys all took the 100/1 this morning, and I include myself in that! I backed him each-way.
Cheltenham trip on the cards for Peregrine after Thurles win
He is an unbelievable horse. When I looked at the race I thought he had a great chance and conditions and everything came right,. He'll go to Cheltenham now for a handicap chase next month. That's as long as he comes out of today ok. If the ground is good over there, the boys are keen to go back for the craic. The weather will tell us where we go after Cheltenham or whether we give him a break until the spring. He was actually heavy coming here today as we gave him a break after Galway. I left him out of the Grade 1 chase at Down Royal as he wouldn't get his ground, it would be too hot for him and the trip would be too far.
Fogarty back with a bang on Robin Gold
I haven't ridden a winner for a while and you'd know it as I took it up and she hung left. She stays galloping and that's all she does,. I was very light at 10st10lbs but I've been playing other sports and have been watching my weight the last few months. I lost four or five pounds for today. She had worked well a couple of weeks ago and we were expecting her to run well. We didn't think she'd win but thought she had an each-way squeak. Robbie McNamara got his license to be a jockeys' agent today so he'll be taking my bookings along with Bryan Cooper from now on.
"Lots of fun" ahead for Elliott yard sponsor through The Bosses Oscar
He is not really a bumper horse and we'll go jumping now and we'll have lots of fun with him. He is owned by the yard sponsor and they have invested in a few nice horses so it's nice to get them a few winners,. He'll run in a maiden hurdle next and he wants further; Jamie said he was going as hard as he could turning in.
