Advanced Virgo records 40/1 surprise for new connections
I only have him seven weeks and we were disappointed he didn't get into the County Hurdle and missed out by two but his actual trip to Cheltenham was a bit of a holiday for him. Maybe in hindsight it worked out for the best. We were very very happy with him and couldn't believe it was such a small field, although we were a bit concerned about the ground. However he won his maiden hurdle for Charles (Byrnes) on good ground so we were confident enough and I couldn't believe the price he was. He was bought to go chasing later in the year and for a Holy Roman Emperor he is a hell of a jumper and he stays.
Mahler Allstar justifies short-priced favouritism
He deserved that and is a long distance chaser. He'll have another hurdle race before going chasing next season and Sean said he likes the good ground. We'll pick out another race for him and I'd like to go to Liverpool. I like it there and it is always safe ground. If he didn't win that today I'd be in trouble so hopefully next year we can look forward to going over fences.

Nell's Well adds to Grade 3 win
I was apprehensive about running as the ground was a concern. Her best form is with a dig but we walked it and knew it was safe. For a handy sized mare she was giving away plenty of weight and I thought she was impressive and looked a winner from a long way out. I thought he gave her a lovely, patient ride. She wasn't scoping perfect after her last run and we had to give her a break so it has taken her longer to get out. I would say it is another step forward . Where she goes next is all ground-dependent but I can't wait until she goes over a fence because she is dynamic at jumping fences and that's really what I'm looking forward to. I have five or six horses to run, I'm very quiet. We normally have a few that we breed ourselves to run away but have scaled back on that because the numbers were getting too big and with not enough good broodmares. My owners are keeping the show on the road and this is brilliant.
Gleeson shines on Thedancingfarrier
For some reason he seems to love this place, maybe it is the level track but he does seem to like it around here, although all his form had been on softer ground. My brother Richie normally rides him as an amateur but the race was part of 'The Gentleman's League' and John was drawn to ride him. John is a local lad to us from Dungarvan so I'd know him and I was happy to have him. Today was the plan for a while and he'll run away for the summer although I wouldn't run him on fast ground.
Magical performance as Whittle opens Irish account
She is a nice filly and from day one, I've always liked her. She is very professional and her work was very good. The ground was borderline ok and for a four-year-old to do that is good, and she shot clear. I'd like to thank Aidan, my brother and Enda McDonagh for buying her at the sales and she will go back to the sales now.
