Success for Walsh Family at Punchestown
He jumped like a buck. I couldn't believe he was the price he was, he had beaten the favourite before and if he was going to be in the frame so were we.
Bolger wins his 12th La Touche
L'Ami wasn't quite good enough in the top graded chases and I'm delighted for the horse today becaue he was becoming a bit of a bridesmaid (having twice finished second over the banks course at Cheltenham). I was happy going to the final fence as I would have been equally pleased had either of my horses won!
Quevega claims Ladbrokes World Hurdle
Paul [Townend] said she was moving easily all the way and he had no problems with her. Her dam won over long distances and her win at Cheltenham (over 2m4f) told us she had the stamina to win over three miles. I think she has the class to go back over two miles and she showed that last year. She might have an entry for the mares hurdle, stayers hurdle and maybe even the champion hurdle at Cheltenham next year. I wouldn't mind doing what we did last year and go straight to Cheltenham or just give her one run. The injury she had last year is still at the back of my mind. I don't know if we'll go to France or not yet but the prize money over there is fantastic.
Nolan/Molloy strike at Punchestown
He have been waiting for three miles on better ground all season and they made all the difference today. He ran no race at all the last day. We put blinkers on him today just to sharpen him up. We might have a look at Killarney next for him.
Captain returns to best in Ryanair
it was unfortunate what happened to him at Cheltenham (ran no race when bursting a blood vessel to finish eighth in the Arkle Chase) but he vindicated himself today and proved what a good horse he is. It would have been a shame to finish the season without an accolade for him and we'll enjoy this for the time being before thinking about the Champion Chase with him next season.
Mullins wins last with Bishopsfurze
I'm very happy with that. Things just happened a little quick for him at Cheltenham. He will go out now for the Summer and come back and go novice hurdling probably over two and a half miles.
