We got out of jail today, we got the last run on them but it worked to our advantage. Willie gave her a great ride, he took and bided his time. She is easy to pick races for as she can run over a mile and six to two miles and she can go on any ground.

The horse is named after a part owner, Michael Fitzsimmons, who has a pub in London of the same name. This fellow is a lovely prospect and he jumped very well apart from one or two slight novicey mistakes. He has done a lot of schooling in the last month. He is slightly better going right-handed. He'll have at least six weeks off before his next run as he is a lean horse and he just needs a bit of time. Hopefully he is a horse with a future.

That made up for Church Island's defeat yesterday. He is a nice horse and that is his fourth win this year. He just ran a bit too free at Ffos Las last time and just got there a bit too soon. We'll wait to go chasing with him until next year as he is a novice for this year. Adrian is seventeen and he looks like he'll make a jockey but there is a long road to go. He is not as strong in a finish as some of the full professionals but he has a great racing brain. It is a treat to watch him riding. For the time being his rides are confined to me before he strengthens up.

On The Other Hand back to his best

He lost his confidence over fences but he'd always been working well. He needs good ground and he is in a flat handicap at Ballinrobe on Sunday but he might not get in there. The dam won four races for my father, all under lady pilots.

He is an out and out stayer. I'll try and find a winners of three bumper for him and if I can't he'll go hurdling. He is good enough to win a maiden on the flat when the ground gets softer again.
