Soprano hits high note She may have gone up 12Ibs in the ratings for an easy Wexford success and had to overcome losing her prominent position when the race got going in the straight, but Celtic Soprano came home like a lion to land the F.B.D. Insurance Handicap for Paul Deegan and Willie Supple. The four-year-old daughter of Celtic Swing, was delivered out wide to throw down her challenge in the final furlong and the 12/1 chance came home strongly to pass several horses. She crossed the line three parts of a length in front of Monahullan Prince. Deegan said: "We got out of jail today, we got the last run on them but it worked to our advantage. Willie gave her a great ride, he took and bided his time. She is easy to pick races for as she can run over a mile and six to two miles and she can go on any ground."
