We brought her to Newcastle and there was a false start and they were waiting for about 15 minutes and she totally boiled over. Ever since she came home she's been a different filly, worrying about things and stressing out going racing. She was sweating on us and just wasn't relaxing. She's finally found her way back and she was well handicapped off her run last year. It's great for the owner (Mrs Renata Coleman) who has three or four with me, it's nice to get a winner for her again. When she missed the break, we had to ride her cold and I said to switch out wide and it seemed to work. She enjoyed it today, not getting her crowded and letting her enjoy it. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Jaafel, ridden by C.J. MacRedmond, placed sixth, and Might And Mercy (GB), ridden by J. Coen, unplaced, where it appeared that interference may have occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J. Coen stated that he received interference from his outside causing him to momentarily check his mount. C.J. MacRedmond stated that his mount shifted left when he applied his whip which he corrected immediately. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that no riding offence had occurred and therefore took no further action. Ms. Heather Heffernan accompanied J. Coen at this enquiry
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Monzoon (GB), trained by Ross O'Sullivan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
J. Coen, rider of Might And Mercy (GB), trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount met with interference in the straight
J.A. Powell, rider of Dazzling Spirit, trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls and was slowly away.
