Bumbasina opens account in Gowran opener
She ran a lovely race last year. I thought the ground might be a little bit gone for her, she is as lazy as hell,. If she turns out as good as her half-sister (Dolce Strega) she will be doing okay. She has a good way of going and she is very honest. She just realised what she was doing in the last 100 yards, and I liked the way she stuck her head down and galloped on to the line. We will try and find a bit of black-type for her somewhere or we might go for a winners of one or a fillies race. I might give her a bit more experience.
Busy Beauty gets deserved pot
She is a real advertisement to ownership in Ireland. You can turn up at the races with her and she mightn't win but she usually gives it her best,. The ground doesn't seem to bother her too much and she is a lovely filly for us and David (owner David Kelly) to have. David has had great fun with her and she is very consistent. She has been knocking on the door of late and certainly no one could begrudge her of that win. She is just a pleasure to have around. She has been Group 3 placed before, and she will probably mix it between handicaps and trying to get more black-type. She looked like she would collect off her mark of 86 for a while and she duly did today. It's a lovely pot to win and we are delighted with that.
Smart performance from Naughty on debut
She is a nice filly, she is a good-looking filly. She is lazy at home and we knew we had to bring her to the track to wake her up. We thought she could either wake up or run mid-division. Anyway she did wake up and when he gave her a crack in particular she finished very well. She is a nice filly. The O’Regan's (of Newtown Anner Stud) have had a bit of luck with Fastnet Rock, with Fascinating Rock of course, and they have been good supporters of the stallion. She will improve from the run and hopefully we might give her a go in a Listed race. There is one at Naas at the end of June that sticks out in my mind.
Somehow on top in McCalmont
Label scores on debut for Harrington
I'm delighted with him. I was worried about the ground. I've only had him a month, and I'm just learning about him. He is a nice horse and we will see where we go from here. I have nothing in mind for him. He has only had two runs and he was moving up in class. I was happy when the ground was good, but the more it rained I was really beginning to wonder.
Believing back for another win
Feane ends Day on good note
He did everything right and there was eleven lengths back to the third. We will see what the handicapper does,. Rory gave him a lovely ride. He also gave the filly (Midnightmudcrabs) a lovely ride earlier, she was second in the big handicap.
