Klimt looks smart in opener
We've always liked him and he ran a lovely race here first time,. It was in our head that he would maybe go to the Chesham after that but Ryan said to maybe leave him, come back here, and let the filly go to the Chesham. That's how he ended up here. He's a lovely colt. He travels well and quickens well. Ryan was very happy with him and he said there is more to come from him. He said he was a little bit disorganised when he got there. He could go to one of those races at the July meeting in Newmarket or something like that. We'll see how he comes out of this and we won't be in any panic with him.
Silver arrives late to land RTE handicap
It was a very professional performance from a novice in a handicap and I'm delighted with him,. The statistics for maiden winners coming into handicaps are eight percent so we came here with that in the back of our minds. We've always loved the horse. He got a mark of 84 after the last day so we had no option but to go for a handicap. It was a nice handicap and I wanted to come back to the Curragh where he had won before. It was a learning mission as well but we were very happy to run. To be honest on his first run in a handicap I thought he might be a bit novicey but anyway he got up. In comparison to the run of six seconds we had, it's good to be on the other side.
Tithonus 'turns inside out' to win Rockingham
That's absolutely brilliant and he deserves it,. I have to say a big thanks to Donncha Houlihan, my vet in Greenmount Veterinary. He diagnosed this lad with gastric ulcers after his last run. He put him on a course of antibiotics and he has turned him inside out. He's a top class vet and I can't thank him enough. I also have to thank the boys, Tony and Mike O'Brien for having the patience earlier in the year. We were thinking big but made a bit of a mess of him and put him in the Lincoln over the wrong trip. It was just trial and error but all those things led to us finding out about the ulcer. Rory was brilliant on him from start to finish. It's just great. He's versatile as he's won over fix, six and seven. The last thing I told Rory going out to just remember that he won over seven furlongs in Galway and to make lots of use of him. There is so little between these sprinters and we didn't know for a few minutes whether we'd got up or not. That inch is some difference. He's entered in the Scurry in two weeks time and that looks likely. Six furlongs should be perfect, the optimum trip. I have to thank a good team of staff at home also. It's exciting times. We got a bunch at the Derby Sales during the week so we have all sorts now, point-to-pointers and sprinters!
Moore & O'Brien double up with Vermeer
You'd be delighted with that. Ryan said he might even stay further,. He said he travels well, quickens well but doesn't do an awful lot when he gets to the front. Ryan said he could be a Caulfield Cup horse. He has has options and we'll see. We'll look at races over a mile-and-a-quarter and a mile-and-a-half. That's very good ground today and he has form on soft ground as well.
Clemmie off the mark in style in Group 3
She's lovely. We're going to give her a little bit of time now and then maybe step up to the seven in the Debutante,. You'd be delighted with that. She's coming together lovely, slowly slowly. You'd imagine being by Galileo she'll step up to seven and she'll probably even get a mile. It was lovely bit of ground for her and the race worked out lovely. It's five or six weeks to the Debutante (August 20th), which is a Group 2 fillies race. That's what we'll have a look at with her and we're looking at the same race for September.
Nezwaah claims Group 1 glory in Pretty Polly
We're delighted with her and she's always promised a lot,. We thought we'd come here and have no excuses as the ground had dried out. We would have been a bit worried if the ground had been on the soft side but it dried out nicely for her. We've always thought a lot of her, thought she should run well today and we'd really learn how good she was. I'm delighted she's won and I'm really grateful to Sheikh Ahmed for being so patient with her. I think there were four previous Group 1 winners in the race. You could probably name a small handful of very good fillies that aren't here but still it was a good race on paper and none of these Group 1s are easy to win. It's a thrill to win one and a great thrill to get this filly winning at the top level because we've always loved her. We'll get her home and see if she's fine and speak with connections. She's well entered up. She's in the Nassau Stakes, the Beverly D at Arlington. She's got all the big entries and we thought how we ran today would perhaps determine where we went. Maybe she's justified staying in Europe and taking her to Goodwood. We'll see. She might stay further and might get a mile-and-a-half but we might not need to as there are plenty of nice races at a mile-and-a-quarter. It's great to get another Group 1 winner for Sheikh Ahmed who has supported me from the start.
Rekindling enters Leger picture with Cup win
He gave him a great ride and he settled well,. He had a little bit of class and there was a chance he would be a little bit better than them. Obviously Wicklow Brave is a very good horse but he had a little bit of class and it worked today. Three-year-olds have a good record in this race. It looked today like he could be a Leger horse. He did well to go and get Wicklow Brave as he's a very good horse. We hadn't thought much further than today. We were probably finding out about him trip-wise today. There is Doncaster and the Irish Leger. He has to go to one or the other and he he probably has to go somewhere between now and then as well. An awful lot will depend on how the races are looking closer to the time. I'm sure there will be a few better three-year-olds than were taking him on today in Doncaster. We'll see what happens closer to the time but it's nice that he's back in form anyway. We'll probably have to meet Order Of St George somewhere. If we don't meet him in the trial here we might meet end up meeting him in September here. His Leopardstown form (Ballysax win) has worked out really well with Capri in behind and the Dante form (4th to Permian) worked out very well too. The winner won in Ascot and all the form is working out. A lot of people are knocking the three-year-old generation but it will be interesting to see in the next month or six weeks.
Fahey on the mark again with Hamley
It's another winner thank-god and the first one I've been here for in a while. The two in England I didn't go over and then I was away on holidays for the last while so it's great,. I'm thrilled with the filly. When we got her her first two runs were desperate for us and she's after turning the corner on her last few runs. My horses are probably just coming in to very good form. We'll give her a little bit of time now and might chance something in Galway. She stays well and there is a mile-and-a-half or a mile-and-three handicap in Galway for her. Hopefully we can have another day out of her. Full credit to all the lads in the yard at home because between sales and being away on holidays they've done everything with the horses. I'm delighted for the syndicate. Dermot Dunne set it up and there are 20 members in it. It's great for them and it's great for racing to get a few more syndicates back going.
