Montagu wins again at Tramore
Horses for courses. He won his bumper here and we think a lot of him, we think he is a right horse,. He had a few little niggly problems, he had corns on his feet, that is why we haven't seen as much of him as we should have. He could go anywhere and will be some horse over a fence. He will stay novice hurdling while we can get away with it. I thought he was really well, he done a good bit of work up the Old Vic the other morning and that done me anyway. I was worried when I saw my other colours coming though (the similar colours of Barry Connell)!. Tramore is a very lucky track for me and Mark gave him a good ride. He does a lot of the work at home and is a very underrated rider. He would rather better ground than today. He got away with it, he is a good ground horse.
Duggan off the mark on the track
That's my first winner on the track, I've had plenty of placed horses but no winner,. She came off the Flat, John Burke in Thurles had her before me and he done a good job with her. She ran well the last day but probably hit the front too soon, we held on to her a bit longer today. She might struggle to win again, hopefully she won't get much of a hike for today. She handles most types of ground as long as it's not tacky. I've ten in at the moment, three for the track and seven for point-to-points.
German Boy makes right start in Ireland
Some people in the Racing Post are involved in him with their friends and he's a horse we got in Germany last season,. I think he will improve as he gets in to softer ground in the winter. He's a very lazy horse and only just does enough. I think once he improves his jumping and his racing skills he could turn into a very nice horse.
4 up for Line View at Tramore
He is a course specialist at this stage. He is at the age and the handicap mark that it's hard to find opportunities for him,. We came here hoping that the track might bring out something in him, and it did. Paul was brilliant on him, he jumped well all the way. He was wrong at the last but was still fast over it. He had every chance to fold from the last but he didn't, he stuck out his head and was brave. I expected him to run well but I didn't think he'd win off his mark. The ease in the ground probably wasn't a help either but he got there and it's fantastic. Every winner for a small yard like us is unbelievable. He has had a lot of injuries and wear and tear over the years, but he is still brave and shows a good appetite for it. He'll come back here, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else with him now. We are in bonus territory with him. He has been a great servant to the yard.
Elliott the top man at Tramore
Tramore feature goes to Sir Jack Yeats
He ran very well in the Galway Blazers. The blinkers seem to suit him. He won here last year and obviously likes the track,. We will give him a few weeks now and then have a look at something for him. If there is a suitable race for him at Listowel he could go there.
Irish Lass impresses on debut
Her owners (Bowes Lodge Stables Partnership) couldn't come over due to travel difficulties but I'm delighted for them anyway,. They also have New Kid In Town with us, and Contingency who won here the other day. She is a nice mare and obviously is a half-sister to Airlie Beach. She will probably go the winners route now and then novice hurdling.
